I made this candy corn treat bag yesterday and it took me a while but I made it happen.
Last week I showed you the bag that was displayed at Regionals and it was made by Carrie. This bag is the one I made and …..are you ready….I will be filming a video asap!!
To make this bag…you will need the Big Shot Pennant Die, Felt, Embroidery needle & Embroidery Thread in all four colors (black, orange, yellow & white), Felt Glue & Ribbon.
Club girls…..let me hear your thoughts…do you want to make this at club? Long distance girls….do you want to tackle sewing or would you rather I pick a paper craft? I’ll jot down all your votes and make a decision in the next day or so. (
Now for the rest of the story…are you like me and can’t sew? I can’t even sew a button….but those days are past! Chase came home & said “Wow…you can sew”. Guess how I learned…..YOU TUBE :))))) isn’t that a hoot? I’ll try to shorten my story but you know I’m a talker…and love to tell stories. My computer crashed again yesterday a couple of times and I was so sad that I had to make something to cheer up. So, I decided to make one of these bags….but first I wanted to use cardstock. I made two of them and the first one was bad….hee hee and the 2nd one was better. But at that point I realized…it had to be made with Felt! So, I rushed out & went to the store…had my arms full (didn’t get a cart…thought I was only getting Felt)….ask for help…what stitch is on the picture I had taken with me. I was told a Blanket Stitch….yikes…how do I do that. I ask two different people and one nice lady said she would email me…but…. wait I’m a visual person….written instructions will not help. Then a light bulb moment…you can learn anything on You Tube 🙂 It took me watching the video about 5 times….messed up 3 pieces of felt…but now I have it :)))) I’m so proud of myself.
Here’s the two I made with cardstock 🙂
the black one was first…the orange one was next 🙂
Thanks for visiting me today…. see ya!
Hey Angie,
Very cute~
I am with you no sewing for me. My Mom tried to show me many years ago and I just don’t get it. I even tried crocheting and I don’t get that either. I guess when I am old I will be stamping. LOL
Paper is my vote.
very cute but not so sure about the sewing thing. i prefer to stick with paper.
All of them are very cute. Yes, I agree, it needs to be made of felt. It just works better. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to the video.
I am not in any of your clubs (due to Geography)but I have to say the felt pouch is my favourite. There is nothing wrong with the paper item but the felt is flexible and just looks so awesome. Well Done!
Looks like a great project for club, or if not, I can review the video. Felt is the way to go, but then I’m a sewer.
I taught myself how to knit with online videos! It’s amazing what you can teach yourself!
Your project is adorable.
I love the felt pouch… so cute!! And again I’m sad about being so far from you!!! I would love to make classes with you!! Thanks for sharing!!!
You know I love this little bag. I love to try anything different. I can sew as well. You will have to show me the blanket stich to refresh my memory, but we end up doing the paper project I will be just as happy. It would be cute as a card and keep the crease at the top. Just a thought.
See ya Monday.
Well, as long as you are cutting the felt…I can sew. Either way…doesn’t matter to me. I just love that I have something to look forward to!!!
This is too cute! Way to go Angie! It’s so rewarding when we can figure things out on our own… even if it’s frustrating at first.
They are great!! congratulations!!! See when you set your mind to it anything is possible!!!

Wow! Your felt candy corn treat holder is the cutest thing ever! Love it!
Wow, really wish I could come to the event! I love the felt one – but the sewing thing scares me!! Those would be so cute for my Sunday School kids!!
Wow the bag looks great! You did an awesome job!! I don’t know how to sew either but maybe after watching your video I’ll learn to! ;o)
Yes..I am not very good with sewing either! Matter of fact, sewing machines scare me! 🙂 I still like your cardstock candy corns! Is there still room to put stuff in them? Love the felt one too!
I’m so excited to come on here today and see this!! I had just emailed a friend asking if she knew how this was created because I saw a picture of it. Thank you so much!!! Now…to get the supplies and sew. I think I can do it after watching your video. 🙂 Thank you Thank you!!
Love it! I was just thinking of perhaps… color foam sheets? Would that work? There is gluing, but no sewing involved.
I prefer to stick with paper. I don’t have a way of sewing.
Thanks for asking our opinion!
Heather
Good Morning, I love the candy corn bag. I think the videos are wonderful. As a sewer for many years you have made the process look painless. I think the project is the best.
