Hey Angie,
I always enjoy your videos! Thanks for doing and sharing them! I was just watching the one about the rag purse and had a light bulb go off in my head…I had just seen in Current’s catalog a purse organizer that looks perfect to fit inside of your purse. It’s got spaces for credit cards, cell phone keys, etc and measures 3×5 1/4×8 1/2 and is $10. Anyway, I just thought how perfect it would be for the rag purse….I may have to make one and buy the organizer. (if you want to look at it the product number is JB5065.

I don’t have the big shot but this definitely makes me want it even more!! You’re awesome! 🙂
ab fab! thanks so much for the great instructions!
What an awesome idea!!!! I never thought to use fabric with my stampin up stuff!
Love ragged everythings and never thought of doing a purse. Totally awesome and I think would make a wonderful gift. TFS your wonderful idea. I plan to make one for sure. Pat
hi angie! i have to tell you, im trying your purse, but since i dont have the scalloped square die, im using my large scalloped rectangle nestie. im hoping it works. i have the fabric cut already and im now putting the batting and rectangles together…so im hoping it turns out ok. i love how simple these are even for a non-sewer(is that even a word??…lol)
on second thought…i guess its not gonna work when i go to put together the bag….it wont sew up correctly…:(…
instead of using a die you can use 4 3/4 squares and cut them with your rotary cutter. it takes more time but its doable and Im with you…I use to call myself a non sewer but that words look like ….you know where our waste water goes 🙂
have a good day!

This is so cute, thanks for sharing!
Hey Angie, So cute! I have one question though. When sewing the seams do you sew all the edges in the same direction? I mean does it matter how the edges lay when you sew over them??? Thanks Pam
Very cute. I make rag purses, but never thought about using my nesties or my cuttlebug to cut the shapes. I always just use my rotary cutter and then snip the edges. Do you use snips to cut before washing or do they fray without snipping? Again, very cute! Thanks for sharing!
I snip them the scallops before I wash it 🙂

I do not have a big shot but I have tons of scrap fabric from a furniture store that used them as samples and I want to try this using that fabric… I love the purse and was thinking how cute it would be to add a big shot fabric flower under the button closure… just a thought, I love all your videos and cannot wait to try this… thanks

This was an awesome video! I’m all ready to go buy a sewing machine to make one of these cute purses. Thanks for sharing you time and knowledge with all of us.
Kristi in Vegas 🙂
Thanks for such a great video! I can’t wait to try making a purse. 🙂
What brand of rotary cutter did you purchase? I need to buy one but don’t want to get one that doesn’t work. 🙂
Thanks!
Ooh, I’m excited to dust off my sewing machine. Thanks for the videos!!
2 questions:
What brand of rotary cutter did you purchase?
When sewing the seams do you sew all the edges in the same direction? Does it matter how the edges lay when you sew over them?
Thank you…love the video!

Thanks so much for sharing these videos, Angie! Wish I would have watched them before I started piecing my bag together. I stitched all the way to the edges and can see my corners (where the 4 squares meet) are much bulkier than your sample. Hopefully that’ll go away once I snip and wash my bag. Again, thanks!
Angie, when you sew a row of 4×4 together, and another, and another–what do you do when you come to each square seam?
Do you sew it flat or open up the seam. I kept watching but could not see how you were doing it.
Can’t wait to make mine. Thanks for the video. I am so new at this.

Thanks so much for your videos! I can’t wait to make one of these for my daughter… She’s into purses and with all the recalls lately, I like to make my own “toys” where I can!
Angie, you are so gracious to share your video instructions for this tote. Wish I had watched it before I started mine. It’s not complete yet as I still need to make the straps. I also added 2 small inside scallop pockets for my cell phone and keys. Thanks again for sharing.
